Did you upgrade the Installer first to 10g (included in the 9.2.0.5 minipack) as per the instructions? 9.2.0.5 apparently won't install correctly with the 9.x Installer. There's no UNIX/Linux parameter I'm aware of that needed to be set different from 9.2.0.x to 9.2.0.5.
