You're just talking about installing some non-default parts of the Oracle client. If you want the version of the Oracle Pro*C libraries to match the version of the Oracle database, it should be no problem to install everything into the same ORACLE_HOME. You'll have to remember to upgrade everything together when you upgrade your Oracle database, though.

If you want the version of the Oracle client libraries to be independent of the version of the Oracle database, install into separate ORACLE_HOME's.

I am talking about oracje database and Oracle client my reqmt is I need Pro*C to work for that I need to install it is not part of standard installation.Is it advisable to do it in separete home,is yes then why. Thanks
