Mladen, I agree. Reality doesn't.
To my daily experience, especially when setting up DG environments, I ran into several sites with locally managed temporary tablespaces, even unde 9.2. From one site I've still access to I copied this from their databasecreation-script: (I removed the SID, so noone gets insulted ;-)
create tablespace temp
temporary
datafile '/u04/oradata/sidwashere/temp01.dbf' size 400M
initial 1M next 400K minextents 1 maxextents 1000 pctincrease 0
When I'm hired to help with a DG setup, most of the times the database is already there. And there are still lots of DBA's around that keep stuck to Oracle7 practices. The dutch are known to be scroogy (is that the word?). I like it, I can make a living out of fighting the problems caused in this way. Just look at my signature. As long as they don't listen to that, I'm in business (even without being an OCP, and despite more-or-less hating cats. I like cats, as long as they stay away at least a 100 yards.)
