Veritas Volume Replicator, EMC MirrowView and SRDF

Hi Everyone...

  We have a high volume data collection and reporting system that ships on 8.1.7 and 9.2.0... We perform unrecoverable direct loads of the majority of the data (the metric data) and normal logged operations for the remainder (the metadata)... We have a customer who basically wants distributed HA with seamless failover and failback... I know I know... The customers ALWAYS say that... And 99 out of a 100 change their minds once they realize how much something like that costs... However, this customer seems to be really interested in this... Money is a secondary concern for them... But, I still need to figure out a solution that is as inexpensive as possible.... Of course...

So, time to do some digging... Given our current architecture, the only viable solution appears to be a low level data replication solution... We have considered several other options (physical standby, logical standby, streams, replication) and eliminated them for various reasons
(unrecoverable loads, iot's, long's etc)... We may have to come back to
these solutions but they could require some significant application changes or scalability limitations...

Now that you have the background, here's the questions...

I know some people here have used SRDF... Has anyone used MirrowView
(Sounds like SRDF for the Clariion line)? How about Veritas Volume
Replicator? Any war stories? Does it really work? How much bandwidth does it need? Can you use it on a high volume system? Any insight would be appreciated...
