Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: LMT SYSTEM Tablespace?
I see no good reason why to change the SYSTEM tablespace to an LMT. I say
wait until Oracle says it is required and then do it. Probably in 10G.
It's working as it is, so I would leave it alone.

Stephen - Go for 9.2.0.4, too many bugs remain in 9.2.0.2. Yes, in 9i LMT is the default for system tablespace and if that is LMT you cannot create a DMT. Haven't tried it, just quoting.

Subject: LMT SYSTEM Tablespace?
I have a vague recollection of not wanting to make the SYSTEM TBS Locally Managed in earlier releases. I can't recall if that is a real memory or imagination. In any case, does anyone know of any reason not to use Locally Managed Tablespaces for all tablespaces in 9.2.0.2+?
Thanks
