Update on the 'net... SCO acknowledged that the memo is genuine, but they say it was taken out of context.
Microsoft say they are paying SCO for a legitimate service, but are not funeling funds to them surreptitiously.

I hope that the EU comes down so hard against Microsoft that they practically have to close up shop in Europe.
