 Using EMC- symioctl for hot backup  

 On 8.1.7.2 database we use 'sys' and the backups work. On 9i, if I grant  sysdba and dba to the user then the backups work. One or the other will  not work. Was wondering if anyone knows exactly what roles and privs the  user needs for the backup to work. Would like to slim down the roles and  privs.
