Hi Robert,
Well, actually, no. The disk on the remote server is a local disk. The SA was completely baffled. It works for smaller files and intermittently for large files. Oh well..

Could it be that the directory on the remote system is a remotely mounted to yet a third server and that that ftp is protesting about that...?
