Yes, ALTER SYSTEM.
But I can still ALTER SYSTEM a hundred databases faster then you can VI their pfiles.

The problem is editing. It's still much faster to use "vi", or "emacs" for heathens, then to modify parameters from sqlplus.

Alter database? Chris, I have bad news for you: "alter database" will modify
your database, while "alter system" can be used to modify your spfile. What
do you want to modify? Where do you want to go today?
