High Availability Oracle

I'm just starting to research high availability solutions for Oracle, and I wonder if some of the folks with experience using HA could offer a few words about when to use the various HA options offered by Oracle and the pros/cons of each, etc.
The solutions I'm referring to are the following, although there may be others I'm missing:

-RAC
-Standby DB
-Replication with Materialized Views, Streams, etc.

P.S.- Yes I'm digging to the Oracle doc
