I have the book, but have not yet had time to read it. :( Dan gave a presentation on this topic years ago at OOW, and it was very good.
I recently found out about the book while searching for that paper.
Dan was in charge of optimizing the SQL for Oracle Apps. Some of you
may
know whether or not his work was effective, I don't know.
When I've actually had a chance to put the method into practice, I will
try
and offer a review.

Has anyone read the 'SQL Tuning Book' by Dan Tow from oreilly? It looks
to
be very good and I was thinking of picking it up.
Any comments on the quality of the book would be much appreciated.
...after
this week, there is no doubt in my mind I need to improve my sql tuning
skillz!
