I just noticed that as well.
Though I haven't yet looked at the doc, I would define 'newbie' as anyone that
has not yet worked with 10g. As you might guess, I'm hoping this doc will
bring me up to speed on the 'need to know' stuff that may be different in 10g.

I just found the new 10g doc entitled "2 Day DBA". Looks like a commendable
attempt by Oracle to simplify the docs for newbies. Also, an attempt to simplify administration of their flagship product. I've heard talk of them
wanting to simplify administration to get better market penetration before.
