Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> [oracle-l] Re: Cloak and fedora... Oracle licensing...
Here, We have a desktop group that can do a couple of different things...
1. They have a product that will scan for certain products/files/directories
in the background and report back to the *mothership*
2. At domain login time, they also use a product to check registry entries,
as well as finding a specific file.. It too reports back to the mothership.
They do this to keep desktops/laptops up to snuff on microslop patches, security holes, as well as part of the asset mgt tool that is in place.
See if they have anything that can help you

Subject: [oracle-l] Cloak and fedora... Oracle licensing...
Hi Guys!
It's that time of year again... license renewals... and we need to find out who has what on their PCs. Has anyone found a way to figure out who in the corporation has an unregistered copy of Oracle, or how to spot someone installing Oracle on their PC? I'm thinking cloak-and-dagger stuff... somehow I can visualize Mladen in a fedora...
Bambi.
