I stand corrected. I am actually looking at a denormalized set of tables we have here (there's a table with 52 columns: OBSERVATION1, OBSERVATION2, ... OBSERVATION52) and playing aroung with a different design.
But perhaps I need to step back and look at it from the data model point of view as you suggest. (Don't tell me I have to go in my modelling tool Your suggestions sounded good to me. I didn't think of a CONFIG subtype.
I have a tendency to go straight to the physical model anyway. I guess I should look at the "Conceptual Data Model" option in my design tool. :)
