Apple is not only a Tier 3 platform:

Personally I made the switch to a PowerBook 16 months ago. Really the only downside is the price tag, beats all other desktop platforms in all other areas.

Tim,

that was released in Sept 2002.
releases of 8.1.6 and 8.1.7 were supposed to be released for production
usage, according to articles floated by Bob Shrimpi. Those never happened.
What do you think are the chances of a 9.2 production release for Mac OS X?
Oracle doesn't even support FreeBSD. One can run the Linux release of Oracle
Server with Linux compatibility loaded.
Do you really think that they would support Mac OS X?
In my opinion, no. Not last september, not this september, not next
september. never.
Who really wants to run the server software on a Tier 3 platform, anyways?
