Ah, space, the final frontier. If I'm not mistaken, all of that can be found in the book written by a guy named Robert G. Freeman or something like that. The book name is RMAN Backup & Recovery, from Osborne Press, ISBN 0-07-222662-5. Those are the books for oracle DBA. Its continuing mission: to boldly ensure that the database can be recovered on the short notice, according to the business needs.
