Forms allows you to use a utl_file like procedure called 'text_io' I believe. In 6i the output is written to the client machine, in 9i the results are written to the app server.
Why don't you want to use utl_file? It is designed to create and write text files from PL/SQL blocks.

Is any body know how can I create a text file from store procedure without using utl_file , I want to create & write a text file from result of a select statement and write the result as a text file in a define directory. Thanks for your help.
