Has anyone by mistake analyzed SYS schema? are your stats up to date? Can
you query waits for your sessions ....
but wait ... install Statspack and take periodic snapshots, generate report and try to analyze that first.

All;
We are using SCT Banner product for our Administrative systems. Since upgrading from 8i to 9i, we have been experiencing massive slow downs in response from PL/SQL procs/pkgs that are executing via 9iAS. We have tried everything from running explain plans, setting the _complex_view_merging=false as well as changing the optimizer_features_enable back to 8.1.7. Nothing seems to help. The problem was partially solved with the _complex_view_merging parameter; however, since upgrading to their recent release which required the 9i upgrade, the problem has gotten worse. Now queries that were fixed are again timing out. We have been working with their technical DBA staff for over a month with no success. Anyone have any other suggestions? I'm still in the training phase of 9i, so any help would be appreciated.
