It's never been an issue for me ... tightVNC being the wonderful beast it is, I've gotten used to in-place editing through a vnc session. Big benefit being that a dropped session can be picked up again ... not easy if your FTP transfer fails :-). That said, I can see the benefits of bringing the mountain to you :-)
