Tim's script is not much of different except deleting from the stats$sqltext from
original SPPURGE.sql . But if you see my mail below I do have a lot of other tables
which needs to be purged periodically.

Um, if I understand correctly, you're just trying to keep the volume down in your statspack tables.
I use Tim Gorman's sppurpkg.sql package (on several different versions across several different operating systems). (www.evdbt.com)
I have it set up to keep 14 days of data, but you can change that. It schedules the dbms_job for you. I just set up his job when I configure statspack on a new database, and then I never need to think about it again.
You might take a look and see if it'll work for you.
