Yeah pretty slow, I guess I was out that week. If it went on that long I guess nothing conclusive was reached.

Rick - Is it a slow afternoon with you? Just thought you'd revive this old argument? I think the last time this was brought up the thread went for about a week.

Hi All,

In Oracle8i Backup & Recovery Handbook pg 13 it states "Finally, online redo log files should never be backed up....So, it is good practice not to back up online log files for ANY kind of backup.

Can someone clearly explain why this is recommended?
