Jared,

In my experience in IT. Some of the very best technicians did not have degrees or had degrees in other areas like Psychology, Math (okay we know why). Independent thinking is important in this field and getting a degree I am sorry to say doesn't always demonstrate a persons ability to do that or to apply what they have learned to the "real-world". I have met PH'D's who seem to have left their common-sense behind in their quest for knowledge. Not good.

Hmm, I don't have a degree in anything, but it hasn't seem to have hurt me too much.

Age and experience play a part I guess.
