Saira,
See what processes are running and check if your import is still running:
$ps -aef -U <username> | grep imp
Also, check your alert log file and see what status lines are found at the end of the file. Here is the path:
$ORACLE_HOME/admin/$ORACLE_SID/bdmup/alter_$ORACLE_SID.log

How can I find out if an import is dead or alive? I have an import of 1.6M+ rows that's been running for over 45 minutes.
Oracle 8.1.7.0.0
AIX 4.3.3
What can I check?
Thanks,
Saira
