when I first submitted my slides for a 90 minute presentation, I had 53 slides, one of which was an indication that at that point I would be doing a demonstration which would, presumably, take some time. I got a message back from one of the focus area managers to the effect that perhaps I should add more slides in as that number was somewhat sparse for the length of time I was alloted.

He had obviously not seen me do an hour long presentation last year at IOUG with just 17 slides, one of which was the title and one which contained contact information.

perhaps it's not just the speaker who has not read the guidelines?
