Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> need an opinion
Hi.
I have an operational database with primary and
foreign keys and we are now building a set of
aggregates (daily, monthly etc) to speed up the
reporting. Do I need to replicate the same foreign
keys
on the aggregates that we have on the base tables?
I'm thining no because there will be no new FKs added
to the aggregates and all the existing values will
have been validated via the FKs existing on the base
tables. Is my reasoning correct? Am I missing
something?
thank you
Gene
