And here's more. The Access DBA also told me that one of my tables will become very big very fast. The dude told me that we need to partition the table or else things will be very big and slow. So what's the definition of big? The supposedly big table will take in 250,000 new rows per year. We stress tested the table with 1 million rows(4 years worth of data) and full table scans take 23 seconds on a slow 700Mhz Celeron. Proper use of indexes should speed it up. In four years time, that 700 Mhz Celeron would be very very very obsolete anyways and will be upgraded to who knows what - a 50 Ghz Pentium 6?
Chow.
