Exporting with the Oracle 7 binaries and importing with the Oracle 9 binaries should work fine. The problem occurs when you want to go the opposite direction. That is when the cleverness of using the other binaries comes into play.

Hi
This has been discussed before
If I have to migrate from 7.3.4 to 9.2.0 and plan to do this by exp/imp
Do I use the 9i binaries for both export and import
or
Do I export using 7 binary and import using 9i binary
TIA
Jack
