I think we are a bit better off then ... we have admin rights on the
laptops, because the windows admins can't keep up with new patches that are
needed for different software that the DBA group uses.
Of course, all program inventory is tracked and if objectionable software is installed, they will automatically remove it from our laptop.
Developers get a thin client with a keyboard and a mouse and a display. They work in Citrix/Windows Terminal Server environment. They get access to the software only after we okay it and is tested by a test group.
