Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: How to get a ora dba job
So either Don read it and made them correct it, someone proofread it or
someone from there reads this list and reads my messages?
In any case, I guess it means I'm not having as bad a day as I thought :)
Now, I don't know that I would bother asking "what is the default password for sys" but I might ask "what is the current password for sys in your production database?" I don't care if they know what the default is (and with connect / as sysdba you don't really need to know anyway) but I do care if they have CHANGED it
I still remember being able to hack into my prior boss's database (he had asked me to come back and help as his DBA was out sick and he was desperate and it was a "secured" system, I had to be at the guy's terminal) using SYSTEM/MANAGER.
I don't care if you memorize the books, I'd rather you have to look up the syntax (I do, all the time) but you can THINK
