Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Oracle and DICOM
Hi Jose Luis,
That would be great, although our application is an Oracle/Developer one,
and not a web application so far, but may be we can customize it a bit (that
is if it needs customization) to run in our environment. Does that VB
application allow you to access images based on query written in your ASP
application? What is effect of the size of these images on your application,
if its slow or not.
Dick Goulet, I have heard of BFILE, but the thing is that those machines store the image in DCM format and they have a size in the range of 8MB onwards and even if compressed they come to the size of 3-4MB (and if we convert it to JPG, it can loose some of its details which just might loose its value) so its advisable to some how connect to their existing machines, treating it as a separate fileserver. So wanted to confirm if such format and images of this size, can be stored using BFILE? Or what are the different options for this.
Thanks and regards,
Hussain
PS. JL I'll be waiting for your response :)

Hussain...
I've been working with DICOM images...
I have source code for VB applications that manages DICOM images!
I have an ASP application that interacts with a Visual Basic DLL to manage the DICOM files...
So... are you interested? I can give you a copy of the VB Source Code for FREE! :-)
How about that?
Regards!
JL
