Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: semaphores/post-waits - WASSUP
Hi all,
I thought I saw this posted before.
Problem: Multiple large databases on a large Solaris - 8.1.7.4 RDBMS
-All databases go down at one time
-Try to bring them up at one time and get the "post/wait" error
-Check ipcs and its clean, no lk... files hanging around, no snap* files
either
-Can bring up one database and X amount of time later and bring up another
one
So,
-Something on startup an Oracle database needs something related to the
semaphores that after awhile it releases.
Question:
-What the heck is it - "which specific semaphore parameter in /etc/system"
and how to I ensure I can startup all of my databases at the same time
