RE: RMAN hangs

Could this be a problem with contention at the tape device? Maybe you are waiting to mount a tape or some such thing?

Hi Gurus,
We are doing a RMAN full backup ( controlfile) each night using omniback to tape drives.Almost daily we found that during backup of some archivelogs it takes more then 1 hr ( size 30M) while for all others it takes 2-3 mins.
Do you guys have any idea , what might be the reason . Any hint ?
