Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Immediate v. Abort
I'm sensing a great opportunity here. It seems like the discussion is
more about what people do and don't do, instead of being a technical
discussion of what happens in a shutdown immediate v. a shutdown abort,
what are the pros and cons, what are the risks to each approach.
I would love to see this issue addressed by the very knowledgeable in the matters of recovery in a detailed and supported manner. I think this approach will provide people on each side with the information they need to make a rational decision, whether it is to stay the course or change.
Anyone accept the challenge? I'll put up a bottle of good Scotch (no Black Adder Raw Cask) or one of my pictures (ask Rachel) to the person who changes my mind or reinforces my current view.
