How to extract BLOB's into files ??

Hi all,

is there a way of extracting image data (BLOB), into a file in the filesystem.
i.e. via PlSQL.
I am working on Oracle8 / Windows.

I have no idea, where to start, as this is the first time, I have to use BLOB's....

any hints are appreciated
