Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> global cache CR requests and _fairness_threshold parameter
In one of our test, we say lots of waits on "global cache cr request" ... I
haven't been able to find much except that in certain cases setting
"_fairness_threashold" can be set to 1, default is 4.
In our test db, this (setting the value to 1) seems to help, but I don't know the downside of setting this parameter to a value of 1. Does anyone know some more details, advantages, disadvantages ...
BTW how do you try to tune a process, used by multiple users on both nodes
(on RAC) simultaneously, working on same set of data. I believe this is
major cause of the "global cache cr requests", but business logic requires
the processing and we are running shot on ideas to minimize the global cache
waits.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
