Re: access to oracle $ tables in 9.2.0

SELECT_CATALOG_ROLE or "SELECT ANY DICTIONARY", I believe it changed in 9i and it's documented in the Administrator's Guide, Managing User Privileges and Roles, Accessing Objects in the SYS Schema.
