Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Recommendation for SQL Tuning Book
Question for those who have gone before...
Is there a consensus on the best book to use to teach myself SQL tuning under the cost-based optimiser, particularly the use of hints.
I have lots of experience under the rule-based optimiser, so I need hard-core info on use of hints and other features, not the general principles of SQL.
I have found "Oracle SQL Tuning Pocket Reference by Mark Gurry" which looks like it will fit the bill. Does anyone have a better suggestion?
Thanks in advance.
