All you have to do is drop a couple of tables and try to get them back.

Could you please suggest me how to corrupt a data file, for testing recovery.

I am trying to test Block Recovery with my Personal Oracle 9i on Windows Me. I am not able to open or overwrite the files because oracle.exe locks them.
