Assuming the stuff that you want in the recycle pool is:

• consuming too much of your default pool
• isn't being used too much

you could so some sampling on x$bh using obj and tch to make some conclusions. John Beresniewicz wrote a paper on this some time ago, but I don't have it handy - maybe someone else can help.
