Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: sqlplus /nolog
Helmut,
It makes sqlplus act like svrmgrl.
I use sqlplus this way, followed internally by a connect as sysdba command to start and shutdown the database on 9i.

Hi!
I was wondering what
sqlplus /nolog
actually does on Unix? Is it only used for not listing username/password when doing a ps ? Or anything else?
This is 8.1.7 on Sun Solaris.
Thanks,
Helmut
