Hi,
I am installing Oracle 817 on a Window 2000 SP2 system. The install stops
with an O/S error starting service OracleORANT817Agent. The Application
Event Viewer message is "OracleAgent failed to run auto-discovery script
nmiconf.tcl. Look in the nmiconf.log for more information." There is no
nmicong.log. The System Event Viewer message is "The OracleORANT817Agent
service terminated with the following error: %%3221356551". I found a forum
message on MetaLink that sounds similar to this problem. The problem
according to this message is the host name for TC/IP and DNS do not match. I
have our NT system admin looking at this. Has any one had this problem and
was this the fix for the problem?
