Opening an 8.0.5 Database with 8i

Hi

I got a question from a co-worker about opening an 8.0.5 database using 8.1.7
Since I don't have 8.1.7 here to test it, does anybody know wether this is possible or not ?
I guess not, maybe it can exclusively mounted/opened followed by some script to upgrade it to 8.1.7 ?
