Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: Off-Topic - SQLServer2k Qs - FS Block Size & Stripe Width
Hi
By "64K block size" Did you mean File system (FS) Block-size Or Stripe Width (RAID 0)?
Qs On Windows is there a Concept of File system (FS) Block Size Like Unix O.S.? Qs What would be the Stripe Width (RAID 0) Advisable for OLTP/Hybrid Application?
NOTE - FS Block Size Differs from Stripe Width (RAID 0)
Forgive the ignorance
Thanks
Vivek

Hi Vivek,
I don't work with MS SQL but from what I have seen on ms forums people prefer 64K block size for the data files and 8K for the log. I believe that 64K is related with i/o in terms of "pages" inside MS SQL
HTH,
Ed
