Oracle-L: Re: ora-1017 invalid username/password when trying to login as internal

I had this problem before and the cause was traced to sqlnet.ora. After commenting out a line ( sorry don't remember which line ) in that file the issue went away.

Hi All,

Oracle 8.1.6/WinNT

I get ora-1017 invalid username/password when trying to connect as internal. I have recreated password file many times to no avail. Usually this all I have had to do in the past for this error. I have tried all combinations of remote_login_passwordfile. I was getting connected earlier. I had to a shutdown but cannot get server up. Luckily it is a relatively used development server. Any ideas on how to correct?
