Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> RE: HIPAA
Thanks, I would say that is exactly the type of info I am looking for.
Would the archive logs be adequate for this purpose or should trigger based
auditing basically be configured. I am essentially looking for the type of
information that would allow me to determine if an existing system is HIPAA
compliant or not.

Are you asking about the auditing requirements?
Essentially, you will have to keep an unchangeable record of any data manipulation in your system. This is especially the case in the pharmaceutical industry.
i.e. What type of change was it (insert, update or delete)? Who changed it? What was it changed from? What was it changed to? When did the change occur?
I have a little bit of information on HIPAA, but not sure what you are looking for...
Andy.
