Though splitting a 3 way mirror is very fast, you still must copy the data to the clone destinations. This operation is going to take a lot of time, and there doesn't appear to be a way around it.
You may want to talk to your Veritas Rep, they have some very cool volume mgt software that may help.
A 4 week implementation window eh? The PHB's must be on a 17 year cycle, like the Cicada's. There seem to be more than usual.
Or maybe more appropriately like the 7 year cycle of Rabbits. Now they just need a hungry predator to thin them out.
