Well, almost. Yes, that's what I want to do. It's the manual recreate of
the user that bugs me. Perhaps I shouldn't have used the word
"replicate"...
The thing that gets me is under 8i, there's no easy way to "GRANT SELECT ON schema_a.table TO schema_b" from a DBA account. I've been using a (undocumented?) procedure called DMBS_SYS_SQL.PARSE_AS_USER to get the job done (thanks to Kevin Percival!), but I was hoping someone had streamlined this trainwreck of a manual procedure.
