Home -> Community -> Mailing Lists -> Oracle-L -> Asynchronous Procedure Calls
I have a need to call a procedure repeatedly and asynchronously. I am using dbms_pipe for the communication between the calling procedure and the called procedure and that seems to be working. What I want to do is call the procedure multiple times, asynchronously, from the main procedure. The problem is that Oracle waits for each call to complete before continuing processing. Is there any way to do this in PL/SQL?
My environment is: Oracle 8.1.7.0.0, Sun Solaris 2.8. I need to do this in PL/SQL because it has to run through Oracle Warehouse Builder.
Thank you.
