I might add that the Oracle Conferences on GeekCruise are very good too. A lot of tech talk takes place. I was on one last month with Cary Millsap, Dave Ensor, Ian Abramson and Don Burleson. I wouldn't mind attending more of such small but highly technical gatherings. At least I have convinced my boss that there is a lot of learning on the 'big boat'.

btw I do attend NYOUG meeings (except the last one - couldn't bear the thought of a NY Harbor cruise in the lousy weather, rocking to and fro) and do find them pretty interesting - and some nifty giveaway's, too, are always nice for the kids :-)

OOW tends to have a lot more marketing/Oracle employee (so it feels like marketing) presentations
