Hi

I have a data server which is running several 8i instances (8.1.7) with Jservers
on Solaris8. I installed 9i version 9.0.1 and created a 9i database instance.
All instances and listeners were shut down when I did this. So far all went well.
Then I used the database config assistant to clone the 9i database by creating it's
template and changing the dbname and file names. When I try to create this new 9i
database using the template I get the following error:

ORA-29532: Java call terminated by uncaught Java exception: java.net.BindException: Unable to bind endpoint, status = 12542<0.0.0.0,2481>

during the java install. Oracle support says I should just shut down my listener
and run the create and it will work as it is a conflict over the GIOP port 2481.
Has anyone managed to do this without shutting the listener down?

Thanks,

Ben
